We curate and create digital and print content on gender equality and women’s rights. Our goal is to make policy issues and data fun and accessible— because who reads those long and boring policy reports?
In 2019, we are compiling a non-fiction anthology that documents narratives and perspectives on the Sustainable Development Goals from women across the African continent. To keep up with our work and content, follow us on the ‘gram.
We convene on and offline conversations that promote gender equality and women’s rights in Africa. We believe mindsets must change before policies can change or be effectively implemented.
In 2018, we launched the #PowerNOW conversation series. It is time for African women to advance beyond empowerment to power, and we believe having our voices heard is one of the ways we can do that. To learn more, read our blog.
We assemble communities of people committed to promoting the advancement of gender equality and women’s rights in Africa.
Offline, we are members of a coalition advocating for the Nigerian government to pass a Gender & Equal Opportunities (GEO) Bill. Online, we founded The Women in Public Policy (WIPP) List— a listserve for African women. To keep up with our work and find out how you can be involved in our collectives, join our newsletter list.
Our vision is an Africa where gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls is achieved by 2030 (Sustainable Development Goal 5). We support this vision through thought-leadership and policy change in a modern, fun and accessible way.
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”
